by JoAnn on Nov.26, 2009, under Thanksgiving
“O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.” 2 Samuel 7:28-29

by JoAnn on Nov.26, 2009, under Thanksgiving
Thank the Lord and sing His praise! Tell everyone what He has done. Let all who seek the Lord rejoice and proudly bear His name. He recalls His promises and leads His people forth in joy with shouts of thanksgiving, Hallelujah!
I wish a Blessed Thanksgiving to all!
Thanksgiving Bible Verses

I’ve heard an old, wise quote: “However far the stream flows, it never forgets its source.” But I can’t help but wonder, have many Americans forgotten the source of their blessings? It might be a popular concensus that everything we have and are is a result of our own hard work and effort. (continue reading…)

This book by Daniel Whyte III is a light and fresh presentation of the celebration of Thanksgiving. “Money Under the Car Seat & Other Things to Thank God For: A Light and Fresh Celebration of Thanks Giving” was written to “rekindle an excitement for Thanksgiving in the hearts of some who have allowed that fire to dim a little over the years, and to inspire the Thanksgiving lovers to love this holiday even more and to celebrate it better.” (continue reading…)

This year on Thanksgiving many Amercians will be enjoying lavish dinners, huge parades and football games. And through all the celebrating, we are filled with gratitude for all of God’s blessings.
But the video below is a great reminder to us that there are those who are not surrounded by family. They are in far away, dangerous places. Their families gather together and pray for their safe return.
They are our United States Military faithfully serving our Country with honor and valor. Please keep them and their loved ones in your prayers on this holiday and every day.
May God Bless and Keep our Nation.
When Life is Good, it’s Easy to be Thankful!
by JoAnn on Nov.21, 2009, under Reflections, Thanksgiving
When everything is just as it should be, it’s easy to praise God! But how about when the going gets tough? Some get depressed and say “where is God now?” and even give up on God entirely. But no, that is when we need to get even more serious about our worship and praise!
Habakkuk the prophet called out to God in anguish, asking why it seemed that God was not listening to him. And God answered him in Habakkuk 1:5. God told him he was working on something that was so amazing that Habakkuk wouldn’t believe it even if he was told!
Having patience can be the most difficult test of our faith. But remember that God may be working on something in your own life that will just amaze you when it comes through! God’s deliverance can come in unexpected ways that we can’t even imagine. God has a plan that cannot be stopped by any man! (Isaiah 46:10) Praise your way through good and bad times alike!
How great and awesome is our God! He is worthy of our praise today no matter what goes on in our world!
