A Transformation

by JoAnn on Mar.01, 2010, under Bible verses, Reflections

God doesn’t look at the outward appearance of a person. God sees the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) A relationship with Christ transforms us from the inside out and changes everything.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Peace replaces fear;
despair turns to hope;
hate disappears in the face of love;
faith castes out all doubt;
cursed changes to blessed;
and death is no more,
for Jesus’ promise to us is salvation.
**************************

‘So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord–who is the Spirit–makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.’ 2 Corinthians 3:18

Wait on the Lord

by JoAnn on Feb.10, 2010, under Bible verses

‘Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.’ Isaiah 40:28-31

Death could not keep Him in its grip

by JoAnn on Feb.09, 2010, under Bible verses, Easter

“People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through Him, as you well know. But God knew what would happen, and His prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed Him to a cross and killed Him. But God released Him from the horrors of death and raised Him back to life, for death could not keep Him in its grip.” Acts 2:22-24

A Man of Sorrows

by JoAnn on Feb.08, 2010, under Bible verses, Easter

‘He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.

Yet it was our weaknesses He carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed Him down.
And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for His own sins!
But He was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.

He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on Him
the sins of us all.’

Isaiah 53:3-6

With His stripes we are healed

A Wonderful Secret

by JoAnn on Feb.05, 2010, under Bible verses

‘Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

1 Corinthians 15-51.52
