| Jesus tells his disciples in John 14:12: "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." One might ask what greater things can we do than what Jesus has already done? Our Lord even raised the dead! Many believe an answer may be that we are able to change the eternal destiny of a lost soul, because of the power of the Holy Spirit in us when we give our testimony! What greater cause for celebration in Heaven, than a name being added to the Lamb’s Book of Life? Jesus goes on to promise us the Holy Spirit in John 14:16-17: "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” And in Verse 20, Jesus promises not to leave us alone: "On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you." "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19 "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us." 2 Corinthians 5:20 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline ." 2 Timothy 1:7 "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:27 The task is laid before us. Many on this earth are facing a Christless eternity. What will you do? |
